Photograph a shrine, temple, stone monument, burial mound or castle site, and KAMI-LEGACY's AI writes a digital origin story for that place and binds it into your book. Here is how to use it, and what to do when something goes wrong.
Take a photo. The AI reads the text in it against the map and local records, and writes the place's digital origin story.
Your book
Records are bound page by page in the order you walked.
Chapters
Every ten records, a chapter of your own arrives, tying those ten places together.
Map
Your places as red dots over ~5,600 known sites.
Compass
One shrine to visit today, from your birth date and location (for enjoyment only).
Dictionary
Original signboard texts, searchable by deity and theme. Open to everyone.
Digital origin stories are not the official histories of any shrine or temple. They are readings by AI, grounded in signboards and carved text. See the Guidelines.
2. Who can use it
Recording, your book, the map and the compass are by invitation. Your personal URL (invitation key) unlocks them. The stories on the home page, the dictionary and these guides are open to all.
READYFOR backers will receive their invitation in January 2027. Limits per course are as stated on the READYFOR project page.
3. Getting started
Open your invitation URLOpen it in your phone's browser (Safari or Chrome). No app install is needed.
That device is unlockedThe device stays unlocked for one year.
Add to Home ScreenUse your browser's share or menu button.
Your invitation URL is your personal key. Do not share it or post it. If it opens inside a mail or chat app, long-press and open it in Safari or Chrome instead.
4. Recording
PhotographOpen Record and take photos, always including the signboard if there is one.
Allow locationUsed to check the place's name against the map.
Say the name (optional)If you know it, add it by voice or text. It takes priority over the map.
Send and waitPhotos stay on your device and are resent if the connection fails.
ReadThe story is bound into your Field Notes.
5. Tips
Shoot signboards straight on, without glare: one full shot, then close-ups of hard parts.
Where there is no signboard, photograph the shrine or stone, its carvings and its surroundings.
Unreadable characters stay unreadable. If a name cannot be confirmed, the place is kept as "awaiting its name".
6. How to read a story
Signboard
What the board or carving says.
Legend
Tradition, not confirmed history.
Interpretation
The AI's reading across records.
7. Troubleshooting
"This device is not allowed"
Open your invitation URL again on that device (also after one year).
New phone / another device
Open the same URL there. Your records remain.
Lost or exposed URL, lost phone
Contact us. We stop the old key and send a new one; your records carry over.
A record failed
Reopen with a good connection. Resending never adds to your count.
Limit or period reached
New records stop; your book and chapters remain readable.
Wrong name or content
Contact us with the date and place.
