Guidelines

Established 1 November 2026

Our rules and requests for those who use, read, quote, research or report on KAMI-LEGACY, and for the shrines, temples and signboard owners whose places we record.

1. What a digital origin story is, and is not

A text written by AI (a large language model), grounded in on-site signboards and carved text, read against the map and local records.

2. Our editorial rules

Evidence apart from reading
Signboard, legend and interpretation are kept distinct; original text is kept as a primary source.
No guess becomes fact
Unreadable characters stay unreadable.
No invented names
Names are checked against the map, or the place is kept as "awaiting its name".
Checked before publishing
Graded A/B/C; grade C is never published.
Equal respect
Great shrines and roadside stones alike; no side cast as villain.
No harm
No content linking any community or people to discrimination or prejudice. If found, it is unpublished at once.
We correct
Reported errors are checked against sources and fixed.

3. When you record

4. Please do not submit

Serious breaches may lead to records being unpublished or an invitation key being stopped, after notice.

5. Quoting and reuse

6. Disclaimer

7. For researchers and the press

8. For shrines, temples and signboard owners

9. Corrections and removal

Send the page URL and your request. Requests from owners, people pictured, or about discrimination are unpublished first and checked afterwards. We aim to reply within three business days.

10. The compass and "your karmic thread"

These are for enjoyment only. They guarantee no fortune or effect.

11. Your photos and records

12. Changes

We may revise these guidelines and will announce major changes on this page.

Digital origin stories are unofficial readings by AI, grounded in signboards.
