Our rules and requests for those who use, read, quote, research or report on KAMI-LEGACY, and for the shrines, temples and signboard owners whose places we record.
A text written by AI (a large language model), grounded in on-site signboards and carved text, read against the map and local records.
It is not the official history of any shrine or temple.
It has not been academically verified and may contain errors.
It is not endorsed by any shrine, temple, signboard owner or researcher.
2. Our editorial rules
Evidence apart from reading
Signboard, legend and interpretation are kept distinct; original text is kept as a primary source.
No guess becomes fact
Unreadable characters stay unreadable.
No invented names
Names are checked against the map, or the place is kept as "awaiting its name".
Checked before publishing
Graded A/B/C; grade C is never published.
Equal respect
Great shrines and roadside stones alike; no side cast as villain.
No harm
No content linking any community or people to discrimination or prejudice. If found, it is unpublished at once.
We correct
Reported errors are checked against sources and fixed.
3. When you record
Respect no-photography rules; never photograph inner sanctuaries or hidden images.
Do not enter restricted areas, private land or burial mounds.
Do not touch, rub, take rubbings of, or clean stones and signboards.
Do not disturb festivals, services or worshippers; avoid photographing people's faces.
Put your safety first.
4. Please do not submit
Photos or texts made by others.
Faces, licence plates, addresses or other personal information.
Anything meant to stir discrimination or to demean shrines, temples or communities.
Serious breaches may lead to records being unpublished or an invitation key being stopped, after notice.
5. Quoting and reuse
You may quote and share our story texts. Credit "KAMI-LEGACY" with a link to the page.
Do not reproduce whole texts, alter their meaning, or present them as official histories.
